About GetHubApps
GetHubApps builds small, focused tools that solve one problem well — no sign-up, no clutter, no unnecessary tracking. There are currently 80 of them across 10 categories, from loan and tax calculators to developer utilities, file converters and a handful of things that exist purely because they were fun to build.
The project started from a specific irritation: looking up a routine calculation and landing on a page that wanted an email address before it would show a result, wrapped in enough advertising that the answer was hard to find. Every tool here shows its answer immediately, and explains the method underneath it.
How the tools are built
Almost everything runs client-side. When you paste JSON into the formatter, merge PDFs, resize an image or decode a JWT, the work happens in your browser using JavaScript — the file or text is read into the page and never sent to a server. You can verify this by opening your browser’s developer tools and watching the network tab while you use a tool: there are no upload requests to see.
This is a deliberate constraint rather than a technical shortcut. It means we cannot log what you convert, cannot retain your documents, and cannot leak them in a breach, because they never arrive here. It also means the tools keep working on a slow connection and stay fast on an old phone.
The handful of exceptions are tools that genuinely need live external data — the currency converter and the metal rate tools fetch current rates. Those requests carry the currency or metal you asked about and nothing else about you.
Where the writing comes from
Each tool page carries an explanation of the method it uses, the conventions it follows, and the mistakes people commonly make with it — because a number without context is easy to misapply. The 14 longer guides go further, covering the subject a calculator sits inside rather than the calculation itself.
Where a figure is a convention rather than a fact — tipping norms, tax rates, grading scales — we say so, because those vary by country and change over time. Where something is genuinely uncertain or depends on your circumstances, we say that too rather than implying a precision the tool doesn’t have. Nothing here is financial, medical or legal advice, and the tools that touch those areas say so on the page.
If you find something wrong or out of date, please tell us — corrections are made and the revision noted on the page.
Editorial standards & verification process
Accuracy is the foundation of GetHubApps. Every formula, converter algorithm, and educational guide undergoes rigorous verification against official regulatory frameworks (such as Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs for GST, World Health Organization for BMI/BMR guidelines, and RFC specifications for developer utilities).
We do not publish AI-generated fluff or unvetted text. Each tool is engineered by experienced software developers and reviewed against edge cases — such as leap years, floating-point rounding anomalies, and timezone boundaries — before publication. Whenever financial guidelines or technical standards update, our content is revised promptly with transparent modification notes.
How the site is funded
The tools are free and there is no paid tier. Hosting and development are covered by a small number of ads, kept deliberately restrained: no ad sits between you and a result, none is styled to look like a button or a download link, and ad slots reserve their space so the page doesn’t jump as they load.
If you prefer to block them, nothing on the site stops working. What advertising means for your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
